Update!
Unfortunately, due to the heavy rain and bad weather headed our way, tomorrow's Burger Baka event is cancelled. March 21st will be a sad day for all burger lovers.
I will be posting my report on Burger Baka next week.
Burger Baka is back!
That's right! Burger Baka is back this month!
As I was scrolling through Facebook a little while back, I saw a post from a great burger place in Mito called Back Packer. If you want to know more about Back Packer, check out my blog post on them. They make some delicious burgers.
Anyway, they posted that Burger Baka was back this year and it is happening at the same location in Naka city. According to Back Packer, Burger Baka will be a two day event happening on March 20th and 21st. Two days of burger fun and activities.
I am really glad that the biggest burger event in Ibaraki is back and I will more than likely be going. Peace Grill will be there on the 20th so I am pretty sure that is when I am attending.
Peace Grill is sooo good
"What burger yatai do you recommend I try Ibaraki Eats guy?" I am glad you asked.
Definitely Peace Grill. They are number one in my book and I have never been disappointed in their burgers. Next, would be Back Packer of course. If you want to try an interesting burger, I would give Chasyu Burger a shot. Imagine a huge piece of chashu that you would usually have in a bowl of ramen but in a burger. They are quite tasty. Hotsandwich Cube has amazing grilled cheese sandwiches and I hope they will be making those at this event. I really do not know about the other burger yatais listed on the poster, but I am really excited to try them.
That's a lot of people
I would advise caution if you want to check this event out. We are not over the pandemic yet and this event does get pretty packed with people. The event is outside which is good, but again, there are a lot of people who come to this event. You might have to be in line for quite some time until you get your tasty burger. If you want a bit more information about this event, check out my blog post about it.
I will also post the location of Burger Baka here so google maps can direct you with ease.
I highly suggest going by car if you can. Parking can also be pretty hard to find. It should be no problem to park in the parking lot of Naka City Hall which is across the street from the event.
Also, the park has an old style Japanese house that is open to the public. So after you have your delicious burger, you can check out a piece of historical Japan. I am planning to write a post on this year's Burger Baka so please look forward to that.
I hope you have a chance to try some of Ibaraki's best burgers next weekend. Who knows, you might see me there, enjoying my Peace Grill burger, Back Packer Burger and possibly any other burger I can get my hands on.
Enjoy!
