Support Hi-5 Burgers

Imagine this. A young man moves to rural Japan and after a year of only having access to McDonald's burgers, he has lost all hope that he will find another burger place in Ibaraki. After a while of only McDonald's, a friend mentions a place in Tsukuba called Hi-5 Burgers. The young man goes to this restaurant, orders a burger with fries and onion rings, and has one of the best burgers he has had in a year. This was 12 years ago, and it is still an amazing memory for me.

Hi-5 Burgers holds a special place in my heart. This was the first non fast food burger place I tried in Ibaraki and even till this day, it is still one of my top burgers. Whenever I went to Tsukuba, I would always try to go visit Hi-5 for an amazing burger, and the best onion rings in Japan. (Yeah I said it. Best onion rings in Japan!) I loved going to Hi-5. But then, the unimaginable happened, Hi-5 Burgers closed. That was a dark day for me, and for quite a while, I didn't have Hi-5 Burgers in my life. I never stopped thinking about them and their amazing burgers.

After a while of no Hi-5, I had heard they were back. Just like a phoenix rising from the ashes, Hi-5 Burgers returned! I was so happy to see them! At the Coffee Factory, the village market, and other events. The burger master of Hi-5, Atsushi, was working hard. Making burgers and moving his burger tent around to different places. His menu was limited only to burgers, but still, I was extremely happy to be chomping down on Hi-5's amazing burgers again. I do still think about their fries and onion rings, and wish you could try them.

But wait! You may be able to try them very soon! Hi-5 now has a food truck that maybe debuting sometime this year. This means burgers, fries, and onion rings! The great burger chef Atsushi has the truck but he needs our help. The truck still needs a frier, and other cooking goods to make an expanded menu. He also wants to put out tables and chairs to make the food truck a mobile restaurant experience. If Atsushi meets his crowdfunding goal, his mobile Hi-5 restaurant will be dishing out amazing burgers and onion rings all around Ibaraki. This would be amazing!

Here is how to help. First click on the link below:

Unfortunately, the website is all in Japanese but I will try to guide you through it.

Click on the bottom pink button that says プロジェクトを支援する.

From there you can choose how much you want to donate and what perks you want with your donation. You can get Hi-5 merch like shirts and keychains, or get meal tickets for your next burger with your donation.

Next, choose your method of pay; pay pal, credit card, or pay cash at a convenience store.

Finally, enter your information and your done! You have just helped this great burger man come closer to opening his mobile restaurant. If you read Japanese, check out Atsushi's story. It is pretty interesting. He has been flipping burgers since the late 90s.

I hope you decide to help out Hi-5 and are as excited as I am to check out his new mobile restaurant. This crowdfunding event is open till March 31st. I am sure Hi-5 will reach their goal, and I can't wait to visit their food truck.

Update

At the time of writing this post, I am estatic to report that Hi-5 is at 75% of their goal! Just a little bit more and that mobile restaurant dream will be a reality. I can't wait to grab a burger and those dreamy onion rings at Hi-5's soon to be food truck.

Another Update

Hi-5 made it to a 100% in just three days! Thanks to everyone who backed the project. Hopefully we will get some amazing burgers soon.
